Bekamenga dipanggil Timnas Kamerun

Masih ingat sosok "tampan" yang satu ini?



Yup.. Christian Bekamenga! Striker yang musim 2007 lalu sempat membela Persib di Liga Indonesia. Ia merupakan top skorer Persib musim lalu dengan 10 golnya. Kepergiannya meninggalkan cerita kontroversial karena ia pergi saat Persib masih berjuang di Liga Indonesia, saat liga belum benar-benar selesai. Ia pindah ke FC Nantes, klub yang kini bermain di Ligue 1, divisi Utama Liga Prancis..

Ia menjadi bagian skuad Olimpiade Kamerun di Beijing beberapa saat lalu, dan sukses mengantarkan kamerun ke babak perempatfinal sebelum dikalahkan Brasil. Hebatnya kini ia dipanggil ke timnas senior Kamerun dalam Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2010 menghadapi Cape Verde di Prais.

Cameroon call on olympic stars

Cameroon have included new caps Franck Songo'o of Portsmouth and Nantes striker Christian Bekamenga for their next World Cup qualifier.

They will receive their first full caps for the international side after impressing in Cameroon's national under-23 side at the Olympics.

The Indomitable Lions were eliminated after they lost 3-2 to Brazil at the quarterfinal stage.

Songo'o, a former France under-19 international, represented Cameroon at the Olympics after FIFA granted the 21-year-old winger a change in nationality.

Bekamenga was a prolific goal scorer for Persib Bandung in Indonesia, where he scored 30 goals in as many games before he was snapped up by French club FC Nantes last season. (wuih bangga banget yah disebut.. hehe..)

The 22-year-old also played a crucial role in Cameroon's qualifying campaign for the Olympics.

The pair will be part of The Lions squad that will face Cape Verde in Praia on 6 September in a vital qualifying match.

Cameroon are currently only a point clear of their island rivals, with two matches still to play.

They will, however, be without the services of star striker Samuel Eto'o, who is serving a one-match suspension.
